If there was ever a time to seize the day and control your own destiny it is now. Your hometown spring lacrosse season is canceled and the world is in a state of self-quarantine and confusion. We know you’re not happy about the situation, neither are we.
As we have said time and time again, you can’t control what happens around you. You can only control how you react. While other teams fret over this crisis, Gorilla will seize this time as an opportunity. We will adapt and overcome. We will use this time to grow and get better.
Effective immediately Gorilla will training again.
Gorilla has developed a training program which will prepare you – physically, mentally, technically – for when we see each other back on the field again.
Even though you are in quarantine, we expect our players to be better, faster, and stronger the next time we meet on the field of play. Other Clubs may be sitting on the sidelines waiting for someone to tell them what to do. However, Gorilla will begin our season early to get the advantage on the competition. We expect Gorilla players to seize the day and control their own destiny. Your teammates will be working hard during this time. So, put down the video games, get off the couch and be ready to put in the work that your teammates expect of you. The team will hold you accountable to do your part. There is no excuse for you not being ready for the next time we step back on the field.

A complete schedule will be released weekly, here are details of the program:
CUSTOM GORILLA SKILL PRACTICES: Monday & Thursday
Two days per week, players will complete a custom-made skills practice featuring Gorilla Head Coach Coach Jim Connolly. Each skill practice includes a challenge to be performed by players and uploaded through the Gorilla Training App. Players will be responsible for mastering the skill as coaches will be watching your videos and giving feedback.
WEEKLY LAX IQ MEETING: Wednesday
Every Wednesday, Hall of Fame and Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Coach Ted Garber will host live Zoom sessions for Gorilla players that will help develop "Lax IQ". Coach Garber will offer game film breakdown, outline off-ball expectations, and provide players with information on what college coaches look for in recruitment.
CUSTOM SPEED & AGILITY SESSIONS: Tuesday & Friday
Workout to Gorilla Conditioning Coach Nate Busa from the Nonantum Boxing Club. Players will be presented with daily workouts that include jump rope & stretching as well as new fitness challenges released every Tuesday and Friday. Players must upload videos of themselves completing the sessions through the Gorilla Training App. Coaches will be providing feedback on your videos.
WEEKLY CHALK TALKS
These sessions - to be hosted weekly by our coaches - will bring together teams talk about strategy, concepts and help them prepare for the upcoming season.
BEAST MODE HIGH INTENSITY LIVE WEEKEND WORKOUTS
For those looking for the ultimate fitness challenge, Coach Busa and the crew at his Boxing Gym will be hosting live Beast Mode high-intensity workouts on weekends that will test even the most fit athlete.
The program we have developed "UNLEASH THE BEAST" has been specifically designed for Gorilla players so that they are ready to bring their personal BEST when we are allowed back on the field. It’s time to seize the day and make this time YOUR time to make yourself better.
